SVHN for Electricians

Panel upgrades and EV chargers, with the panel photo up front.

Half the Bay Area's homes were built before 1980, with panels sized for a different century. Homeowners adding EV chargers and heat pumps hit that wall - and SVHN sends you the request with the panel photo, its current size and what's driving the upgrade.

Sound familiar?

The headaches every electrician knows - and what SVHN does about each

"Just a quick outlet" turns into a 100-amp panel on a 200-amp ask.

Panel requests ask the current panel size and what's driving the upgrade, with a photo of the panel with the door open.

The EV charger is 60 feet from the panel - found out on site.

EV requests ask the car, whether the charger is bought and how far the panel is from where they park, with photos of both.

Permits and inspections stall the schedule.

The permit helper puts the work description and city permit link on the Job Card and reminds you; the final goes on the homeowner's Home Record.

Small service calls that don't pay the drive.

Set your smallest job and drive distance in job preferences; offer neighbors the same trip when you're out.

Rebate autopilot

Panel upgrades tied to electrification often have city or utility rebates - the homeowner hears about them with your job.

When your job qualifies (heat pump, heat pump water heater, panel, insulation), the homeowner is told which city and utility rebates apply and what to save for the claim.

Automatic on qualifying jobs

Permit helper

Panel and EV permits: description, link, reminders, and the final recorded for the homeowner.

A suggested permit work description and the city's permit link on the Job Card, reminders, and the permit recorded on the homeowner's Home Record.

Pass a job / add a trade

Heat pump install needs a panel first? Hand off between the HVAC pro and you on the same Job Card.

Can't take it? Pass it to a pro you trust. Finds a sewer line problem? Bring in the next trade. You get a $15 fee credit when a passed job is finished.

Questions

What electricians ask us

Can I skip small jobs?

Yes. Set your smallest job and the job types you take; requests that don't fit go to someone else.

Who pulls the permit?

You do - SVHN isn't the applicant. The helper drafts the work description and links the city's permit site, and reminds you until it's finaled.

How are EV charger leads priced?

By band: a charger install is usually an Install/project. See the table on this page.
