Hiring a window and door installer in Sacramento
In California, window and glass work of $1,000 or more needs a C-17 Glazing license (or a general contractor's license for bigger projects) from the CSLB. Replacement windows also need to meet the state energy code. You can look up a contractor's license at cslb.ca.gov.

- Ask whether the quote is retrofit (insert) or full-frame replacement.
- Ask if the permit and disposal of old windows are included.
- For homes built before 1978, ask about lead-safe work practices.
